The expansion is facilitated by the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), a legal framework that enables states to pool online poker liquidity across state lines.
RSI CEO Richard Schwartz said of the integration: “The launch of a unified cross-state player pool significantly enhances the BetRivers Poker experience. By expanding the network, we’ll bring more players to our tables, offer a wider variety of games, and raise the stakes with larger tournament prize pools”.
With this move, RSI has integrated the poker player pools of all four states where it is active into one consolidated network.
The shared liquidity across these states is expected to improve player experiences by providing a wider variety of games, larger tournament prize pools, and stronger cash-game ecosystems.
According to RSI, the unified poker experience will allow for more frequent and larger-scale tournaments, as well as a greater selection of game types, benefiting both casual players and high-volume participants.
MSIGA now available in most legal iGaming states
This expansion follows shortly after Pennsylvania officially ed the compact as its sixth participating jurisdiction. Gov. Josh Shapiro endorsed the agreement on April 23.MSIGA’s reach has now been extended to a combined population of more than 38 million across six states: Delaware, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Connecticut, where iGaming is also permitted, remains outside the group. However, legislation being discussed by lawmakers could change this.
Pennsylvania is now considered the largest jurisdiction within the compact, supplying a critical mass of players that online poker operators can leverage for enhanced network performance and player engagement.
In the days following Pennsylvania’s MSIGA entry, Caesars Entertainment expanded its WSOP Online brand into the state, adding it to its previous network of Nevada, New Jersey, and Michigan.
This rollout allows WSOP Online to offer an improved competitive environment and deepen its presence in the regulated US iGaming space.
RSI is also looking to build further on its momentum, making plans to introduce BetRivers Poker to New Jersey later this year.
The addition of New Jersey would further expand the network’s footprint within MSIGA states and continue to reinforce BetRivers Poker’s market standing in the US.
